As a highly skilled Senior Visual Effects Artist and an experienced Art and Technical Director with over 20 years experience in the film and television industries, I specialize in creating visually stunning and realistic effects that enhance storytelling and captivate audiences. My expertise spans across VFX digital compositing and integration, camera matching, motion tracking, screen replacement, 3D animation, modeling, texturing and lighting, motion graphics and on set technical supervision/art direction.
I aim to craft visually striking effects that not only enhance stories and sales strategies, but have as much social impact as possible. Having a vast knowledge of industry-leading software from the latest Adobe Creative Suite including After Effects, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, Photoshop and Fresco and from Autodesk, Maya and 3D Studio MAX. From Maxon, the Maxon One Suite including Cinema 4D, Redshift, Red Giant and Z-Brush. I have a proven track record of cross functional disciplines and have had great experiences collaborating with all the departments of production including Creative/Art directors, producers, agency reps and client stake holders, always aiming to deliver the highest quality visual content across all platforms and formats within the budgeted deadlines.

Here's a collection of spots demonstrating the range of disciplines I'm able to execute and incorporate into any commissioned project.
BLACKICE PRO XLT TIRES
A Spec project I recently put together in Blender and composited in After Effects. Applying real world lighting, environmental effects, simulating the interaction between the tires and the ground texture and finally marrying it all with an energetic sound bed made up of serval sound effects and music.
SHOWCASE NETWORK IDs - House
SHOWCASE requested some new network ID's that would playfully incorporate the SHOWCASE logo as an element within entertaining moments from a selection of their top rated shows. The idea that I came up with was to camera match a glass version of the logo into the chosen clips creating an impactful and dynamic reveal while hinting that SHOWCASE is the content and likewise the content is SHOWCASE.

SHOWCASE NETWORK IDs - Trailer Park Boys
This was a fun one. I chose this clip intending to play off of Bubbles insane glasses and giving the audience a hint of what his world must look like through his glasses.

SHOWCASE NETWORK IDs - Californication
One of my favorite shows, it was difficult just picking one clip but this one had the best payoff. What a great crane shot to use as a reveal to the logo.

MOVIETIME NETWORK IDs
Here's my favorite out of a collection of Network ID's I created for movietime. The ask was to make them dynamic and spatial. I created a character animation style of Kinetic typography and placed them within their respective situational environments.
SPEC TITLE ANIMATION: TRON
With TRON ARES soon to release in October, I was inspired to play around in their techno aesthetic world.
THE REAL HOUSEWIVES OF TORONTO
Although it only lasted one season, this was a cross departmental collaboration that was a lot of fun to work on. Placing the individually shot personalities on the top of the CN Tower was especially challenging, thankfully no one fell off.
BIG BROTHER CANADA & TONYBET
BBC and Tonybet was another really fun campaign that involved bringing together reality TV, a social media influencer and on-line betting for a one-of-a-kind contest experience. Mikael Melo helped sell it all with his infectious energy and made it easy to shoot his performances that were later composited onto these Las Vegas inspired animated backgrounds.
